Hi all,
I am trying to use options to manage hotel bookings as I'm going online at the moment ( perhaps the pending hotel booking update might solve these issues but the option quantity problem will remain the same) so I have created a single room option - but how do I limit the quantity of this option available, because I don't have the same allotment as for doubles? This will also apply to other options which I will want to offer in the future where they may not be as many available as the number of people in the overall tour number .
I've tried every which way but I must be missing something dead simple....

Hi Simon,
If you go to option - price table (which is a horrible page). It lets you
- set a per quantity price (i.e. a different price when 1 person to when 2)
- Option not appear when on a 2 person booking (so a single supplement only appears when there is 1 person on that product)
However, as you have said, I believe your real needs would be best serviced with the forthcoming hotel / room product type.
In the meantime though, please do email us with a specific question and example - and we will work out for you the best way to handle it before the hotel functionality is in place.

Thanks ! As mentioned the price table is...
I hadn't realised that I could have set an option (like an additional night) at a different price for one or for two for example so I've learned something! At the moment though with the options system, I couldn't find a way of offering for example, 2 single rooms in one booking because one can easily come across clients who want to book for two (or more) but in singles, not in doubles.
For the moment I've got round the problem by devising two tours, same dates etc. one for single option, one for doubles. A bit messy but it works.
However it still appears to me (notwithstanding the future hotel/room module) that one should be able to restrict the total quantity available of an option within a tour because there might not be enough for all bookings - I hope this makes sense.
As I progress I will send an email with my thoughts/suggestions or else please let me know if it's better to post them here
