August 2010 development plans for TourCMS

Lots of great feedback and requests coming for TourCMS enhancements

Just for some clarity and openness, here is what we are working on over the next couple of weeks

* Hotel rooms - able to have a description per website channel (so can maintain in multiple languages)

* Hotel discounts / special offers - able to set, by date range, a discount. This will move the hotel to be "on offer" - so we will have both the original and the reduced price (so theoretically that can be displayed side by side)

* Special offer API method - so can extract tour departures on special offer - as well as hotels on special offer.

* Board basis by website channel - so you can have individual hotel board bases set for individual website channels

* Rewriting credit card payments internal wrapper (like an API) - we are working with a development agency to integrate an additional 15 payment gateways into TourCMS. But first we need to do some work to maintain some control on how we work with 15 new payment systems!

* .net API wrapper (for Marketplace partners) (similar to the existing PHP one)

* An engineering project to do with data storage - we have *a lot* of data now

* Supplier choice within a booking - able to have a reduced list dropdown for suppliers (once a booking is received) i.e. if only 5 suppliers ever supply that product type - no point listing the 200 suppliers you have in your account

* Able to hide (from customers) options within a booking - i.e. if you want to use an option as a "cost line" but don't want to show that breakdown to the customer

* Automatically add options in a booking - handy for "cost line options" to be added behind the scenes

Hi Alex,

Great to hear that you are integrating new payment gateways. This is an absolutely essential requirement for us at both Macs Adventure and Adventure Networks as having a choice of Merchant Service Providers allows us to save a fortune by using more competitively priced providers.

As most travel companies know getting competitively priced merchant services is one of the biggest headaches we face and having a better choice of payment gateways is absolutely essential so we are not stuck with PayPal for the majority of our online bookings.
