For users of the TourCMS tour operator ecommerce platform
I have been using the %balance_sale% token in confirmation emails. My understanding was that this token would return a vale of 0.00 if the person paid in full when booking. However when customers pay with PayPal the %balance_sale% token still returns the full value of the sale price. It seems that the conformation email goes out before the balance is updated? Anything I can do about this?
Thanks
Andrew

Yes this is a slight problem because the data from Paypal takes a while to arrive back into TourCMS - and in the meantime the email has been sent.
One way of handling it is to send a "we have received your booking" on the new booking email (sent at the end of the online booking process)
Then, on credit card setup, make the booking automatically change to provisional / confirmed on receipt of a payment - and then setup a new provisional / new confirmed booking email - and in that do the confirmation email.
Then the customer
- books online
- receives email confirming receipt of booking request
- payment data arrives in TourCMS
- receives email confirming booking (and stating that no balance remains due)
Thanks. Alex
