For users of the TourCMS tour operator ecommerce platform
'Long Description'
Hi
Can anyone enlighten me as to the use of the 'long description' on both the tour and the option set up.
I ought to know the answer as I have been using TourCMS for so long, but I don't, so would be grateful for any useful tips on how or when it is used! Many thanks.

'Long description' can be used on your website if you use TourCMS to manage your web content or in emails / RTF documents.
As can 'Short description' which can also be displayed during the online booking process.

OK, thanks, so if TourCMS does not manage the web content the long description is not visible in the booking process.

How are you creating your pages?
If you are using TourCMS to build your pages (no need to if you don't want to) then
- create an extra field (on tour/hotel) - which you can find in Configuration & setup
- create content for each tour/hotel (for descriptions etc)
- use the new tag in your HTML templates to pull the tour/hotel specific information in

This has nothing to do with long descriptions so is a bit of a thread hijack
