2 quick queries

I have noticed occasionally (I think since we turned on the online booking engine) we have new bookings that skip a few numbers in their sequence.  It seems to coincide with me getting an email from people saying they have tried to book online but timed out at some point.

 

Can you advise:

- does this skip in the sequence indicate someone has tried to book online or tested the booking engine or is it just a random thing?

 

- how long does a customer have to complete the online booking process and is there any error messaging you get if this happens?

Yes - booking IDs are "used up" by temporary bookings (i.e. incomplete bookings). Only once they have gone into the booking process (beyond step 1) will a booking ID be issued.

The customer gets 45 minutes to complete each step before they are timed out. If there is a problem (i.e. timing out) then they are redirected to a generic error page. However you can set up your own website specific error page (in website manager - Design look & feel - i.e. send the users back to your own website
