For users of the TourCMS tour operator ecommerce platform
I would like to attach a specific rule to our promocodes that if they are entered on certain products, the client automatically gets the option of unlimited beer & sangria free.
Is the system able to do that?
Its on the development schedule - see http://community.tourcms.com/forum/topics/february-2013-development...
Just a little update - we have vouchers working now via API - not yet documented in public though - still playing with how it fully works
So not long now
Will the Promo code function be able to offer more than just a percentage discount? i.e. also a fixed price?
At some point very soon yes. Right now working out a few wrinkles on the % based system - then will enhance it
That's great to hear :) I assume/hope also that the promo code function will include a field for headline information (i.e. 'Special Discount') and for details (i.e. 'offer valid until 30 June' etc) - AND that this information could be linked and display on the tour lists, the tour page itself and in the booking engine?
My fingers are crossed that this will help to solve my pressing need to have a straightforward way to display and promote information about special offers...
Yes it will. Hang on. Want to ensure its all right before we release it to the several hundred companies using TourCMS to run their business!
Does the percentage promo discount codes work yet for public?
As mentioned via email, our team are currently working to finalise, test and roll out promo codes throughout TourCMS.
Hi there - any update on when this feature will be rolled out? I am really hanging on this one... :)
Thanks / Stewart
Its there! (just not announced yet)
How do I do it? Can I experiment? I don't mind being a guinea pig...
OK - to set this up
a) Go to Configuration & Setup - promo codes
b) Create a promo code
c) Go to channel manager - booking engine - and on step 3/4 - turn on promo codes (and define your text)
Should be there!
Much more functionality coming (e.g. fixed rather than % based) - but its a good start
