Firstly thank you everyone for your feedback - online and privately - regarding our proposed changes to the TourCMS price structure.
As a result we are ready to announce the following changes:
The cap for the free account level has been changed from 10 bookings per month to 50 total
We do have quite a large number of companies using the free account to run their business. We were (and are) happy to support these companies through their growth period. However we have decided we can't support travel companies using our software for free forever. 50 bookings is sufficient to get your company up and trading with good revenues at which point you can upgrade to our lowest account level - 20 GBP or 40 USD per month.
2 companies that were doing under 10 bookings per month but have completed over 50 bookings have been "grandfathered" until the 1st of November (6 months time). We have communicated with these companies directly. By grandfathering will not be charging them for the next 6 months - as long as they continue to trade within the boundaries of the previously free account level. We have not grandfathered other free account holders and you will have to upgrade when appropriate.
Email based support
Forum based support will remain free. However we may charge 20 GBP for any bespoke work (for example tweaking one of your web templates) that you may request via the TourCMS helpdesk.
Really we don't want to charge anyone for support - we believe TourCMS should be so easy to configure that you won't have any questions. Therefore support remains free so we can see what questions you have.
Where you want us to undertake custom work for you, such as a tweak, this will give you a mechanism to pay for this work rather than retaining a web design agency to do the work for you.
Credit card payments for TourCMS
We are slowly changing over from our PayPal based subscription system onto our credit card mechanism. In particular this will mean
- we can charge you for ad-hoc help with the minimum of fuss
- those customers currently overpaying due to the UK VAT change last year will have their accounts put back to a correct payment level (we will also be more prepared for the reverse change in 6 months time!)
These changes are now reflected in the price table within TourCMS
http://www.tourcms.com/prices/
See also the
earlier forum discussion about charging for support.
Thanks everyone for your understanding. 95% won't be impacted by these changes (or that is our intention anyway)
Alex & Paul
