14th April 08 - New release - payments and balances

New release gone live over the last few days.....

Sales ledger
Firstly, on the money tab (within a booking) you can now record payments received either from a customer or an agent within a booking. (or refunds, if you add a negative value)

You can configure payment types within configuration & setup section, bookings page. If you add payment types you can select these when you add a payment to a booking. Otherwise, you can write whatever you like when you add a payment (for example Cash, Cheque, refund etc)

To see the new functionality, ensure you have "money" permission in system management!

Balance due dates
All bookings have balance due dates. The default is 42 days prior to booking start date. These defaults can be set on the bookings configuration page.

New tokens
There are new tokens for outstanding balance, balance due dates etc..... go and take a look in the new documentation manual....

Hi Alex,

Thanks, the sales ledger and balance due date really are a huge help to us.

I am just trying to incorportae this new functionality in our RTF's and email templates and wanted to clarify a few things.

- the %balance_sale% token - does this indicate the current balance due - the total holiday cost less any deposits/payments received.

- Payments - is there any way of including the sales ledger information into the RTF's or emails as otherwise the summary tables and %balance_sale% tokens will not match up.

Thanks
Neil

Hi Neil,
Yes - the %balance_sale% token will give remaining balance (taking into account payments)

Yes - Martin mentioned that he needs a list of payments made as well.... so that is on the list!

No ETA for that yet..... but its on the "soon" list!

Thanks, I thought that including a payments received and balance due within the summary sale table (or similar) would be th emost elegant solution but that is of course just an idea.

HI Neil,
We have several new tokens for payments received (either a total - or a table listing each payment). They are now in the latest manual (and live) and we will be announcing the release shortly!
Thanks. Alex
