For users of the TourCMS tour operator ecommerce platform

Hello,

I have the need to create a special tour with different a different end-user cost, but it must be available on the same calendar as the rest of my tours in order for it to be seamless.

I'm using the price option to have a discount price structure for my main tour, but want to have the new tour locked at a different price, without accessing the other price structure. This is all for a local permits, so I'd rather the tour was available on my calendar and not a separate category.

I'm not sure if I need to create a category, option, new tour or what. A new tour has a new link, which doesn't seem to be the answer. I'm not sure if an option would work, without accessing the discounted price structure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike
Quick question - is this 2nd travel product something that would be purchased by itself? Do you have a fixed inventory of these permits - or can you sell as many as you like?

I am not completely clear what a local permit is.

It will certainly be possible - we just need to discuss a bit so we can work out the best way!

Ok, this is a 2nd travel product (tour) that would be purchased by itself.

By permits, I mean, locally I need to fulfill a requirement and include this separate, longer tour in order to be granted the permit to operate.

Thanks.

Idea #1
On this page
http://www.themobtours.com/index.php/mob-tours-dates-and-times.html, below the calendar, you could put a link to a 2nd page explaing the 2nd tour, and having a 2nd calendar (or you could even put the 2nd calendar on same page, below)

Idea #2
You could have a "dropdown" (for selecting the tour) just above the calendar (and in your page, not the TourCMS section)... so it would look slick to your customers

Idea #3
You change from using the calendar type and use the "list" type. You could then use the "product note" as a 2nd tour type but actually within the same tour... you would lose the calendar (which would be a pity, as it looks nice on your site) (so you would have a 2nd style of departures on the same tour)

Any of these work for you? I am a fan of idea #2 - however I am not sure I am completely upto speed on what you are looking for yet.

Hi Mike,
From the look of your website have you got this sorted now? I am assuming you have.
Thanks. Alex

Hi Alex,

Yes, I think the two calendar will suit our purpose for the time being. Is there a way to put different tour offerings on the same calendar? That would be ideal, but this way works all right too.

Thanks for your help!

Mike

Hi Mike,
Well you can create the two tour types as distinct departures within a single "actual" tour - that would do it

However I think the way you have done it is fine.... incidentally, in this weeks release, you will be able to remove the "Check availability" header - which will make a page with two calendars on look a bit cleaner

Thanks. Alex
