For users of the TourCMS tour operator ecommerce platform

If I had £1 for everytime that someone mentioned that they don't like the inactivity logout being set at 15 minutes I would be a very rich man.

Today we hit the tipping point! We have now tweaked the code and you can now change the setting (Configuration & Setup, Account settings) to log you out at 60 minutes inactivity.

This does mean that for accounts that take this decision that TourCMS isn't as compliant with the PCI standards as it was previously.... (PCI is a data security standard)..... but this is a decision you can make (rather than being forced by us)

So - good idea or not?

Thanks for that - think we'll stick to 15mins for now just to have some more control over our local suppliers' access. It does get annoying getting bumped out yes, but a password manager makes it pretty quick & painless to get back in again.

Does anyone know if the PCI standards have a more relaxed level/time limit if you're not storing credit card data (which we're not at the moment) ?

Hi Ralph,
PCI is just for credit cards..... !

You can do what you like otherwise..... however as they are the only standard around for web based applications, it kind of made sense for TourCMS to support them. But as nearly everyone has complained (!) we have now made it a decision that indivdiual companies can make - rather than us forcing 100% compliance on you.

Cheers. Alex
