For users of the TourCMS tour operator ecommerce platform

Hi there
I feel a little like the kid in the back of the class who is about to ask a silly question, nonetheless, how does one get started with integrating their website. I have been through the documentation every last piece that I can find and still feel like I have no idea where to begin.
The TourCMS tags I understand.
HTML tags I understand too and so my feeling is that one simply (for example) creates their webpage and inserts the TourCMS tags where necessary.
However I still feel like this is a shot in the dark. I know that the new web design catalogue is due out soon but I was just hoping someone could give me a suggestion.

thanks so much

Hi Seanagh,
Thanks for your question here.

In essence there are 3 main ways to integrate with your website

1) Full integration - that is where TourCMS manages your web pages (in essence you put a combination of HTML and TourCMS tags in the templates in TourCMS, TourCMS merges those templates with your content, prices & availability, then FTPs those pages to your web hosting)

2) Zero integration - you can "hard code" a link from your website (one link per tour) - and take online bookings. This is the simple route and can get you up and using TourCMS very quickly

3) Iframe integration - Where the first screen of the TourCMS booking process is actually brought into your website.... so you could put an availability calendar or list of departures actually within your own website..... and only if the customer progresses from that page will they go into a TourCMS booking engine (with your branding)

Yes the new manual is coming soon. Actually I have it here - let me put it live and send it to you (draft version)

Thanks. Alex

Hi Kasi,
Do you have an existing website? If you do - you could just add a booking engine to your current website.... which will take you a very short time.... and enable you to take online bookings immediately. [This would be a web link]

Alternatively, using an Iframe, you can bring an availability calendar (or list) onto your website.... again with minimal web work you can get up and booking straight away.

Or.... if you want to spend more time (and wish to use TourCMS as your website CMS) you can do a more complete integration. We have some example templates on this page
http://www.tourcms.com/support/setup/product_config.php

Please do contact us via our support email address and we can explain in more detail about how to this for your exact requirements.
